Great to have you along we are a group of varying experience but learning all the time --- And in such fun surroundings. An arts and craft haven! Our focus is on developing each individual towards his or her own creative potential. The choice of medium is personal as well as the choice of subject matter. Hermine guides and urges each one to stretch and achieve more than you think you can.
It is a non-threatening non-competitive class environment and everyone supports each other and often become firm friends. Many of our students have gone on to tertiary education – finishing degrees and diplomas. One is busy finishing her PhD in art therapy.
Others have held group and solo exhibitions and are finding ready buyers for their work. One novice who started with her has recently held a string of exhibitions in Japan Our courses empower you to grow in whatever way you wish you may want to develop professionally or develop as a person using your art to enrich your own being, to counter depression or a sense of inferiority.
Whatever their aim, students are often surprised at their achievements and at the discovery of their abilities. A common quote "These art courses made me see my surroundings in a new way" The medias chosen usually range between watercolour to oils and pastels.
Charcoal as well as other drawing media is popular. Then there is printmaking and collage. Students are taught the different art elements such as colour line texture, tone and composition – when they feel ready to absorb these.
