Giverny is all about fun in creativity. In our gentle country setting, we are dedicated to the inspiration of creative expression. Giverny is about unlocking the creativity that is an essential element in every single human being.

We host, present and facilitate courses, workshops and gatherings in creative expression for children and adults. This is often through the medium of arts and craft but not exclusively so - we are into all creative expression.

Situated near Howick in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands of South Africa, we boast an inspirational setting second to none.

Our spacious multipurpose studio is set in stunning country surroundings. We are members of the Midlands Meander and draw some of our own inspiration from the superb artists and crafts people who share our neighbourhood.

Did you know that you do not have to have “talent” to enjoy creative pursuits? Not all visual art is a realistic representation of a particular subject matter. Hey! anyone can paint it does not matter if you believe that you do not have any ability to express yourself visually on paper. You can – everyone can. All artists, beginners to maestros will grow by attending a workshop or course at Giverny

We cover all media; watercolour, oil painting, pastel, drawing. We practise our colour, line, texture, shapes, composition and paint application while we express ourselves.

Activities are big at Giverny. Some of these are therapeutic clay work - to touch your inner being and free it. Mask making – we make plaster of Paris masks of each other’s faces.

Screen printing (silk screening) – on T-shirts and table cloths Printing, tie-dyeing, painting on cloth Creative crazy mosaics – on a slab on the floor or a wall Weaving – with multicoloured fabrics – a dream carpet to take you off.
